North Cottage Program Inc. hosted their 1st Annual Light the Night Celebration on Wednesday evening 10/9/24. This incredible, dazzling, beautiful evening was the brainstorm of one of their newest hires, Michael Kimball. Michael's idea became a reality, uniting hundreds of residents and staff in a celebration honoring those fighting for recovery from substance addiction as well as remembering those loved and lost in the battle and others still struggling. The event started at 7pm with a fire pit meeting run by HWH counselor Kris Masison, which then moved to the dining room where Michael shared inspiration to all attendees along with some speeches from successful graduates. All were invited to take lanterns, share names they were honoring and place them outside with care as they were treated to beautiful music by former staff member Matthew Geyer and desserts by the kitchen staff. It was a powerful, meaningful evening for all and Executive Director, Jane Burgess expressed her gratitude to all who supported Michael in this endeavor, from the Facilities Crew to all the residents who helped set up and organize to make his brainstorm a beautiful reality.
